Concert Notes:
After the success of "Buddy Holly Lives," Vintage Vinyl owner/operator Rob Roth decided to make instore tribute festivals a regular event, occurring every few months and paying homage to a different prominent songwriter or band each time. A new "round table" format was devised to eliminate setup and breakdown times during the show, putting all performers on stage at once. Performers would each do one or two songs at a time and then pass the baton to the next person. Performers were encouraged to jump in on each others' songs if they knew them.

Bob Dylan was chosen to be the first performer to honor with the first round table of performers, which consisted of local singer-songwriters Bruce Tunkel (Red House), Frankie McGrath (Maybe Pete) and Dylan Roth. Tunkel and Roth switched back and forth between a keyboard and a synthesized organ while McGrath kept rhythm with guitar. The performers, all lifelong Dylan fans, each dug deep into the prolific songwriter's enormous songbook, pulling out lost gems like "I'll Keep it With Mine" and "The Man in the Long Black Coat," as well as the Dylan-penned classic The Band classic, "I Shall Be Released." Most songs were performed mostly individually, but a few collaborative jams took place, during "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry" and the finale "Like a Rolling Stone."
