Concert Notes:
Vintage Vinyl's 2nd annual BossFest was meant to combine the flavor of the past year's event with the full-band energy of the recent Exile on Main St. festival. The performers were to include festival regulars Bruce Tunkel, Frankie McGrath & Dylan Roth, who would join together with Vinnie Daidone & Max Tunkel from the Exile show on guitar and drums. A traffic jam kept Frankie from the store, but the show went on with the remaining four, who played a power hour of Springsteen favorites from classic standards to more obscure album cuts. Highlights included "Something in the Night," featuring howling vocals from Tunkel, "Prove It All Night," which put the spotlight on Vinnie Daidone's guitar virtuosity, and the epic "New York City Serenade," which closed the set.
