Franz Ferdinand - "Record Store Day 12""
RSD Exclusive 12-inch single

When is a Franz Ferdinand 12" not a Franz Ferdinand 12"? Well, this wonderful very limited Record Store Day exclusive is the answer.

Domino founder Laurence Bell began collecting an interesting group of re-interpretations of songs from the band’s most recent album, Tonight, over the last year. And this limited-edition 12" is the fruits of those labors and is being especially made for Record Store Day.

LCD Soundsystem return the earlier favor for Franz covering their own classic jam, "All My Friends." They are followed by the bawdy and bodacious Peaches, who takes "Turn It On" to rightfully perverse depths. South Bronx minimalist funk legends ESG are sure to deliver the most unique interpretation here with their take on "What She Came For." Stephin Merritt from The Magnetic Fields’ version of the album closer, "Dream Again" is a brooding as that song and Stephen’s persona could hope to conjure. Lastly, the grand dame, Deborah Harry joing Franz Ferdinand for their own collaborative re-interpretation of "Live Alone."

All in all, this is one amazing treat.
